New Hampton Rotary “Souper Sunday” (02.01) Includes Lunch and Inspiration

“Souper Sunday” in New Hampton this Sunday (02.01) figures to be super-inspirational.
New Hampton Rotary presents “Souper Sunday” at the Chickasaw Event Center, a luncheon featuring a variety of soups and desserts for a free will donation from 11 am to 1 pm. That leads into the 1 pm program, “Hope is a Strategy,” presented by Sarah Updegraff-Murray, who was principal at New Hampton High School from 2010 to 2020.
Nearly two years ago, Murray experienced a life-changing accident when she fell three feet from a backyard retaining wall, breaking her neck, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down. Today, she inspires others by sharing her powerful story of resilience and hope. Though, initially, Murray wondered if she’d ever get out of the hospital.
Murray says her biggest push comes from her husband, Steve Murray. She’s also drawn on her experiences as principal.
Murray says her message has evolved since she began motivational speaking, to the point it’s becoming less about her.
