North Iowa Man Injured in Snowmobile Crash

A north Iowa man was injured after he crashed his snowmobile about 15 miles northeast of Mason City.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a single-vehicle snowmobile collision near Plymouth just before 1 pm Sunday (02.08) afternoon. 23-year-old Benjamin Venenga of Nora Springs was operating the snowmobile on private property when the sled struck a large rock and he was thrown from the snowmobile.
Authorities say Venenga was not wearing a helmet and he suffered injuries requiring him to be transported by Mason City Fire Medics to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
The Plymouth and Mason City fire departments also assisted with the crash, which is under investigation.
