COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS BROUGHT TO YOU BY FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

Iowa Department of Transportation’s Pete Hjelmstad joins us for the latest North Iowa Road Report, providing an update on progress of the new Lansing Bridge over the Mississippi River and what drivers can expect in the coming weeks. Pete explains how crews are removing the remaining sections of the old bridge, how the new cantilever bridge is being built from both the Iowa and Wisconsin sides, and how the center span will eventually be floated and lifted into place. He also outlines several upcoming North Iowa construction projects on Highway 63, Iowa 9, Highway 24 in New Hampton, Mason City 122, and I-35 in Franklin County, along with reminders about work zone safety and Iowa’s hands-free driving law as enforcement ramps up.
