North Iowa Collision on Icy Roads Kill Two People

Two people are dead after a two-vehicle collision on ice-covered roads in north Iowa Wednesday (03.04) morning.
The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) says the wreck occurred just after 4:30 am on Highway 18 in Hancock County, about five miles west of Garner.
According to the ISP crash report, a 2004 Chevy Silverado driven by 46-year-old Angel Ruiz-Tamayo of Clarion was heading west and a 2013 Kia Sorento driven by 51-year-old Jason Foell of Britt was eastbound, when the Silverado went out of control on ice-covered roads and hit the Sorento broadside.
ISP says Ruiz-Tamayo and a rear seat passenger in the truck, 40-year-old Constantino Cruz Barradas of Goodell, were killed. Foell and a front seat passenger in the Sorento, 41-year-old Tomas San Juan Ruiz of Belmond, were injured and taken to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City for treatment.
This collision is under investigation.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Garner fire and ambulance, Clear Lake fire and ambulance, and Britt Auto also assisted at the scene.
