Nominations Accepted for Charles City’s ‘Person of the Year’ or ‘Caught in the Act’ Awards

Nominations are now being accepted to see who will be Charles City’s 2026 ‘Person of the Year.’
April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month and Charles City will honor some of its top non-profit program volunteers – as well as Person of the Year — at the annual Community Volunteer Recognition Event on Friday, April 24th. Any and all non-profit organizations and schools are invited to participate and spotlight their best volunteers from the past 12 months.
Organized by the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Charles City, Person of the Year recognizes long-term commitment and efforts to assist or improve the life of others around them. ‘Caught in the Act Award’ nominations are for anyone you’ve seen doing a good deed for others this past year in town.
The deadline to submit a nomination is April 3rd.
Doors for the Community Recognition April 24th at the Charles City Community Center open at 7:30 am, with a light breakfast available followed by a program from 8 to 9 a.m. There is no cost to attend, but free will donations to help offset the event costs are welcome.
The public is encouraged to attend and help honor the folks who unselfishly give of their time and talents for the benefit of others in their community.
Contact the Chamber/Main Street Office for more information or a nomination form at (641) 228-4234 or email [email protected]. Nomination forms also available under ‘News’ at charlescitychamber.com.
