COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS BROUGHT TO YOU BY FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

PAWS Humane Society Assistant Director Jacie Peichel joins Chris Berg to introduce Blaze, a gentle three-year-old orange tabby looking for a permanent indoor home. During the conversation, Jacie shares Blaze’s background after recently returning to the shelter, his calm lap-cat personality, and how PAWS is helping him recover from flea issues while getting his coat healthy again. The interview also covers upcoming PAWS events including the Fleet Farm adoption event in Mason City on April 11, Tattoos for PAWS at Emerald Ink on June 13, the PAWS UTV Ride on September 26, and possible summer events at Tellurian Brewing. Jacie also highlights current shelter needs, including specialty cat litter for an injured rescue cat, along with everyday supplies like paper towels, laundry detergent, and dog treats.

To learn more about adopting Blaze, view available cats and kittens, donate supplies like cat litter or dog treats, or volunteer your time, visit pawscharlescity.com or follow PAWS Humane Society – Charles City on Facebook.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
