Mixed Precip Possible Before Snow Takes Over This Weekend

From Saturday (03.14) evening into Monday (03.16), all of northeast Iowa will be under a Winter Storm Watch.
Meteorologist Jonathan Naylor with the National Weather Service in La Crosse says precipitation will come in several forms, starting later in the day Saturday.
Naylor says one model calls for the highest snow accumulations of 12 to 18 inches north of I-90 in southeast Minnesota, with another model targeting snow along the I-90 corridor. But it’s all subject to change.
If the brunt of the storm stays north, Naylor says that could mean more freezing rain and/or sleet for northeast Iowa. He says most uncertainty in the forecast involves Sunday morning.
And winds will also be on the increase.
Then, things will turn colder.”
Naylor says if the snows and high winds come together, it could create blizzard conditions, which will make travel difficult if not impossible.
