Charles City Rotary Presents Radio Auction Check to TLC for Almost $4,000

The Rotary Club of Charles City hosted its 16th annual radio auction on 95.9 KCHA on February 11th, with 109 items sold and $8,000 raised.

Funds from this year’s auction support Rotary’s local scholarships, local community service projects, and Rotary International projects. Half of the proceeds go to provide support for operations at TLC: The Learning Center, in Charles City.

Prior to last month’s auction, coordinator and Rotarian Tammy Elthon  noted this is the second time TLC has been the beneficiary.

On Wednesday (03.18), Charles City Rotary President Larry Pump presented a check for almost $4,000 to Danielle Ellingson, Board President of TLC, who noted last month that they could use more staff to provide child care service.

With the $8,000 in items sold in February, the Charles City Rotary Club surpassed over $100,000 raised during the 16 years of the Radio Auction on KCHA.

Past beneficiaries of the Radio Auction include Floyd County Museum, which received about $4,300 in 2025; Paws Humane Society, about $3,500 in 2024; Central Pre-School, recipients of almost $3,300 in 2023; and around $3,800 went to TLC in 2022.
