PAWS Pet of the Week – Shamrock the Black Cat; Donation Needs & Board Opportunities

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS BROUGHT TO YOU BY FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

This week’s PAWS Pet of the Week is Shamrock, a six-month-old black cat who’s equal parts energy and affection. Shamrock made quite the entrance at PAWS Humane Society around St. Patrick’s Day—literally leaping into the spotlight with a personality that hasn’t slowed down since. While he may not be a fan of car rides, once he’s out of the carrier, he’s all purrs, cuddles, and face-to-face affection. He’s currently recovering from injuries to his paw pads, which staff believe may have been caused by heat exposure, but thanks to proper care, medication, and specialized litter, he’s healing well and feeling much better. Shamrock is described as a laid-back, loving cat who should do well with other cats, dogs, and kids. He’ll be available for adoption soon after being neutered.
To learn more about adopting Shamrock, view available cats and kittens, donate supplies like cat litter or dog treats, or volunteer your time, visit pawscharlescity.com or follow PAWS Humane Society – Charles City on Facebook.
