RRMR School Board Elevates Secondary Principal Johnson to Superintendent

The Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock (RRMR) School Board has announced that Secondary Principal Nick Johnson is set to also become the school district’s new Superintendent.

An RRMR social media statement on Friday (03.27) noted that “Johnson has demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to student success, and a deep understanding of the district and its community. With over 20 years of service to RRMR Schools as a coach, teacher, and administrator, Johnson brings a wealth of experience and established relationships that position him to lead the district forward.”

During his time as Secondary Principal, Johnson has focused on strengthening academic systems, supporting staff development, and building a positive school culture aligned with the district’s “Warrior Way.”

Johnson said, “I am honored and excited to step into this position. RRMR has been my home for many years, and I am committed to working alongside our staff, students, families, and community to ensure we continue to provide high-quality opportunities for all students. Together, we will build on our strengths and prepare our district for the future.”

Pending formal School Board approval, Johnson will officially begin serving as Superintendent/Secondary Principal effective July 1st.

Johnson will take over for outgoing Superintendent Ken Kasper, who, in January, was named the new superintendent for the Grinnell-Newburg School District.

Kasper has been the shared superintendent with RRMR and Garner-Hayfield-Ventura (GHV) since the start of the 2024-2025 school year. He became the GHV superintendent at the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

Prior to being hired by Grinnell-Newburg, Kasper was also a finalist for superintendent at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows.
