About 20 firefighters were on scene for about two hours to address a controlled burn fire that spread beyond the controlled area.
Crews were able to contain to the immediate vicinity of the property involved, where there were some trailers on the site, along with at least one was an old mobile home.
Smoke from the fire, which may have involved burning automotive tires, could be seen from miles away.
Some nearby utility poles and trees were also reportedly burned by the fire.
Other assisting agencies included the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol, Floyd County Communications Center, Floyd County Search & Rescue, and AMR Ambulance.
