Floyd County Veterans Affairs Director Schriever Recognized for Going Above and Beyond

Floyd County Veterans Affairs Director Todd Schriever was recently recognized for going above and beyond in service to one family’s veteran.

During the April 28th Supervisors meeting, Board Chair Gloria Carr acknowledged a letter received on behalf of Schriever’s actions.

In addition to helping Sergeant Terry Miller, who served in Vietnam, attended medical appointments, the letter also notes that Schriever once snow plowed Miller’s driveway, helped secure his property following a burglary, and ensured that Miller received military honors at his funeral after he passed away last August.

Carr said this has been common practice by Schriever.

The Board of Supervisors also officially honored Schriever themselves.

Schriever and the Floyd County Veterans Affair Office, located in the Floyd County Courthouse in Charles City, provide services and assistance programs to eligible veterans and their dependents. Their phone number is 641-228-1850.
