It’s Lawler Irish Fest this weekend, with a theme of “Stars, Stripes and Shamrocks.”
That’s festival President Ben Larson, who says opening ceremonies at 6:30 PM Friday (06.19) night are followed by acoustic music from Caryn Stewart at 7 PM and the classic rock of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at 8:30 PM.
The Kids Area is back at Croell Park from 6 to 9 PM Friday, with an outdoor showing of the movie, “Zootopia 2” at dusk.
Festivities in Lawler continue throughout the day on Saturday (06.20), including the parade at a new time.
The parade will be followed by a car show and bingo, with the Kids Area open again, capped off by the outdoor movie showing of “Elio” at dusk.
Main Stage entertainment lineup Saturday starts at noon with Mike McAbee, followed by the LaCrosse & District Pipes & Drums, Kellen O’Collum, the Amadans, Bard Not the Band, and the headliner, Shotgun Jane at 9 PM.
Larson says some proceeds from the event go towards next year’s fest and some go back into community projects.
