Saturday Access Returns to Charles City Public Library, Hosts Top Iowa Author Thursday (06.25)

Work for the remodeling and renovation of City Hall in Charles City has been impacting access to the Charles City Public Library, just to the east.

Construction associated with the $5 million project also includes improvements between City Hall and the library.

That’s Library Director Annette Dean, who says access to their front door has been cut off, so patrons need to enter through the door on the south side of the building to the Zastrow meeting room. That door, and the library, will also be open again on Saturday’s starting this week, after being closed the last three Saturdays private events.

While patrons regain some access to the library itself, Dean says they have an  offsite activity for kids as part of Wonderful Wednesday (06.24).

Dean invites adults for an “interactive” session at the library this Thursday (06.25) at 6 PM with author Allen Eskens.

The event is free, but pre-registration is preferred for a head count.
