New Hampton Schools Summer Food Program Adjusts Distrubution Time

An adjustment has been made in the distribution time for the New Hampton Community Schools Summer Food Service program.
Starting this week, Food Service Director Jodi Cerwinske says they’re changing the start time for handing out the grab-and-go meals to 4 PM on Thursdays instead of 5 PM. This time will be in effect for the remainder of the program, which runs through July 23rd.
Cerwinske says they’re moving the start time up in hopes it allows more families to pick up the meals that might get off work at 3:30 or 4 PM and don’t want to go home first, then turn around and come right back out.
She adds it might also help families that have kids who play ball to not have to rush around so much.
Cerwinske also reminds parents that their children need to remain in their seats with their seatbelts on when coming through for pickup at the New Hampton High School parking lot. She cautions that while it is a parking lot, accidents can still happen.
Kids do not need to be in the New Hampton School District to get the free meals.
