July Charles City Mobile Food Pantry Wednesday (07.01); Be Prepared for Summer Heat

It’s the first Wednesday of July, which means the Charles City Mobile Food Pantry returns to the Floyd County Fairgrounds.

Organizer Jen Burton advises food recipients to plan accordingly given the hot weather conditions when they come out to line up for the drive-thru distribution of food.  

Line-up is not to begin before 3:30 PM, with food handed out from 5 to 6 pm. Burton says they’re planning food, supplied by the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, for 315 households.

She reminds recipients that July 1st means it’s time to fill out new eligibility forms.

Burton says Floyd County residents utilizing the Floyd County Food Pantry in downtown Charles City that a separate eligibility form must also be filled out for that service.

Burton says the Floyd County Food Pantry will be open as usual on Friday (07.03), but will be closed on Saturday, the July 4th holiday.
