Update: Hydrant Replacement Begins Monday (08.17) in New Hampton/First Locations Announced

Starting Monday (08.17), the City of New Hampton will begin replacing several fire hydrants throughout the community. 

The City Street Department offers a few reminders for residents:

*Check your water before doing laundry. Hydrant replacement work may temporarily cause rust or discoloration in the water.

*Your water service may be disconnected briefly while a hydrant is being replaced.

*The City will provide updates on the location and timing of upcoming hydrant replacements.

The City says, “We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve New Hampton’s water system. Thank you for your cooperation!”

Work for the hydrant replacements is expected to take place over the next 30 days.

We will be working in the following areas. Work will be starting at Sunrise and 4^th Ave today (8-17) and working on the list in the following couple of weeks, weather dependent.

Rochford’s Mobile Home Park

E Hamilton Street and S 4^th Ave

E Sunrise Street and S 1^st Ave

E Sunrise Street and 4^th Ave

E Sunset St and S 1^st Ave

S 4^th Ave and Parker St

Ashland Dr

W Spring St and S Maple Ave

*Please ask that they leave the locate flags alone until the work is completed.  Without them flags we can’t do our jobs.  If you live in that area just know that your water might look a little discolored due to us shutting the water off that day but if you run it for a bit, it should go back to normal and have no other issues.  Please have patients we are working as fast as we can and just trying to improve the infrastructure here in New Hampton.
