Lily Takes the Spotlight as PAWS Pet of the Week; Shelter Continues Push for Cat Adoptions

PAWS Humane Society Director Julie Taylor stopped by KCHA Thursday morning with Lily, a playful young cat looking for her forever home.

Lily was born in April as one of six kittens after her pregnant mother was taken in by PAWS and placed in foster care. Taylor says Lily can be a little nervous at first in unfamiliar surroundings, but quickly warms up and becomes playful and affectionate. PAWS continues to have a large number of cats available for adoption, although a recent Black Cat Appreciation Week promotion helped several cats find new homes.

Taylor also discussed several upcoming PAWS events, including an adoption event at Fleet Farm in Mason City on August 29, the PAWS UTV Ride on September 26, and the Howl-O-Ween Dog Jog on October 17.
