After some 19 months in separate temporary locations, City of Charles City staff and its police department are set to resume operations in newly remodeled and renovated City Hall.
The City has confirmed that City Hall at 900 Clark Street will reopen to the public Thursday (08.20) morning at 8 AM.
The move back into the building, subject of some $5 million in upgrades and improvements, began on Monday (08.17), with the hope of reopening on Wednesday (08.19). However, that was delayed to complete the final computer and software setup in the building.
Prior to this week, City office staff had called 507 Clark Street its temporary home since January 2025, with the Charles City Police Department, as well as Parks & Rec, being housed at 623 Beck Street.
Starting Thursday, revamped City Hall will also be under new office hours of 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
