James Meineke and Denny Hull with the Charles City VFW join KCHA’s Community Conversations to discuss the return of weekly meals at the VFW, beginning Friday with a free-will donation taco and walking taco meal from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Meineke is taking over the meal planning as the VFW works to expand activities and rebuild following some challenging years. They also discuss expanded Saturday and Sunday hours, RED Fridays supporting deployed troops, donated big-screen TVs and NFL Sunday Ticket for football fans, a Blackstone Griddle raffle with the drawing September 7, the VFW’s free medical equipment loan program, and the September 26 Veterans Stand Down at the Mason City Fairgrounds.

For the latest meals, events, raffles and other updates, follow the Charles City VFW Facebook page or watch the sign outside the VFW.
