Seedlings For Sale Now Through May

The State Forest Nursery online store opened for fall 2026 and spring 2027 seedling orders. Choose from a variety of tree species, including 23 native hardwoods, eight evergreens and 15 smaller trees and shrubs. Prices range from $1.00 to $1.30 per seedling. Seedlings are sold in three age classifications, and range in size from 10-30 inches depending on the species. You can order seedlings Sept. 1 – May 15. The bare-root (no container, soil root ball or moss included) seedlings are packaged in bundles of 25 inside sealed and labeled plastic bags. Fall delivery is in November and spring delivery is in April and May. You can choose to have your order shipped or pick it up at the State Forest Nursery in Ames.
