No Pigs Flying in North Iowa This Weekend

When Pigs Fly Event Postponed Due to Weather

*From Mason City Chamber of Commerce:

The North Iowa Children’s Museum has announced that the When Pigs Fly event scheduled for tomorrow (Sept. 26) has been postponed due to forecasted weather conditions. Low cloud cover and rain are expected to create unsafe flying conditions for the event’s Pig Drop.

While organizers were looking forward to seeing hundreds of pigs take flight, the safety of the pilots must come first. But don’t worry. The pigs WILL fly.

Organizers are now working to coordinate pilots, Plain Ol’ Pumpkins, the piglet, volunteers, local celebrities, and the many other logistics involved in producing When Pigs Fly. A make-up date will
be announced as soon as details are finalized.

All Pig Drop tickets and other event purchases will automatically carry over to the rescheduled event. Ticket holders do not need to take any action.

Plain Ol’ Pumpkins will still be open Saturday for anyone who would like to visit the pumpkin patch. Regular admission is $10 per person. Admission included with When Pigs Fly tickets will
remain valid for the rescheduled event.

“We know many people were looking forward to tomorrow, and we are disappointed too,” organizers said. “We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s understanding, flexibility, and continued
support of the North Iowa Children’s Museum.”

For now, the pigs are grounded. But they WILL fly again.
