Fatalities Up on Iowa Roadways
The year isn’t to the halfway point yet, but fatalities on Iowa’s roads are trending towards a higher total in 2022 compared to 2021.
That’s Iowa State Patrol Trooper Tom Williams, who says many of those fatalities could’ve been avoided.
According to the Iowa DOT website, the fatality count has risen to 135 as of Monday, June 13th.
The DOT says there were 353 vehicle fatalities in Iowa for 2021, which was a five-year high.
