Charles City Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council Planning “Party in Another Park” June 5 for Teens and Families

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS BROUGHT TO YOU BY FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

Charles City Mayor Dean Andrews and students Brynlee Bergeson and Devony O’Brien joined Community Conversations to talk about the upcoming “Party in Another Park” event happening Friday, June 5 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Sportsman’s Park. Organized by the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, the event is designed to give teens and young adults more activities during the city’s popular summer Party in the Park season. The night will include inflatables, pickleball, yard games, food trucks, music, mocktails, and more. The group also discussed how the student-led council is helping shape ideas for the community while building leadership skills through volunteer work and fundraising efforts.

The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council is still seeking sponsors to help make Party in Another Park the biggest event possible. Businesses interested in supporting the event can contact Charles City Mayor Dean Andrews by calling (641) 330-5594. Community members are encouraged to come out Friday, June 5 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Sportsman’s Park and support local youth leadership in action.
