Floyd County Roads Open After Recent Flooding, One Exception

It was a week ago Friday (07.17) that Charles City and Floyd County were bracing for areas of flooding after locations to the north, including Austin, Minnesota, and Osage received about five inches of rain the night of July 9th.

Floyd County Engineer Adam Miller on Tuesday (07.14) gave the Board of Supervisors an update on county roads impacted by floodwater.

Almost.

Miller tells KCHA/KCZE that one repair/replacement job remains.

Due to flooding last week, the Mitchell County Conservation Board was forced to close several parks, including Cedar Bridge Park at Osage, Halvorson Park at Saint Ansgar, Interstate Park at Mitchell, and Riverside Park at Stacyville.

Cedar Ridge and Riverside re-opened by Wednesday (07.15) and, it was announced late Friday (07.17) morning that Halvorson or Interstate had all been re-opened.

Debris from the flooding also impacted the operation of the gates at the Mitchell Mill Dam.
