FCMC, Wartburg Announce Sports Medicine, On-Campus Primary Care Services Partnership

Beginning this fall, Floyd County Medical Center orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Jeffrey Clark, will serve as the team physician for the Wartburg Knights. In addition, FCMC will operate the on-campus Noah Campus Health Clinic, providing family medicine and acute care services to Wartburg students, faculty, and staff.

FCMC CEO Dawnett Willis says, “We are excited to work alongside Wartburg College and look forward to serving its students, faculty, and staff for years to come.”

The new relationship between the two organizations aligns with FCMC’s 2026 strategic priorities, which include strengthening regional partnerships, and expanding access to healthcare services throughout northeast Iowa.

Wartburg President Rebecca Ehretsman says, “Ensuring Wartburg students, faculty and staff have access to high-quality medical care on campus; providing student-athletes with sports medicine resources to perform at their very best; and creating graduate studies in health and human performance are the beginning of what we believe will be a highly beneficial partnership.”

Rick Willis, Wartburg’s vice president for strategic recruitment, worked closely with Clark for many years as the college’s athletic director and head football coach.  Willis said of Dr. Clark. “His vision for expanding orthopedic care will greatly benefit Wartburg’s athletic programs and enhance our vision for excellence in human performance.”

Prior to joining FCMC, Clark served for 26 years as team physician for both Wartburg College and the University of Northern Iowa.
