Ag Matters: Excess Moisture Raises Disease Concerns in Soybeans

Heavy rains across the Corn Belt have producers watching soybean fields closely for disease pressure and nutrient deficiencies. Bayer soybean specialist Jason Carr says excess moisture is driving many of the issues growers are seeing this season.

Carr says this year’s wet soils are creating more than just disease concerns.

Wet weather may also set the stage for another soybean disease as the crop moves closer to maturity.

Despite disease concerns, Carr remains generally optimistic about the crop heading toward harvest.
