18-Year-Old Female Charged with Terrorism Against Mason City Schools

A Mason City 18-year-old female is facing terrorism and drug charges following her arrest last weekend.

The Mason City Police Department says Destiny Kaduce was taken into custody on Saturday after an investigation determined she had  sent threatening emails to Mason City Community Schools in the late-night hours of November 4th.

According to court documents and an MCPD press release, Kaduce sent an email to a school employee at just before 11:30 p.m. Friday night that included threats to “shoot up that school and make sure you die first.”

Kaduce has been charged with threat of terrorism, a Class D felony.

Law enforcement also says that while she was being interviewed at her home, officers could detect the odor of burnt marijuana. Kaduce admitted to having marijuana and a pipe in her bedroom. Authorities say they also recovered approximately two grams of marijuana and charged her with possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor.
