Charles City Public Library Won’t Reopen Until Next Week

The Charles City Public Library will not reopen Friday (02.24) as officials had hoped.

The library has been closed since February 7th while new tile flooring is installed in the lobby. Library Director Annette Dean says the reflooring project came with an unexpected challenge that will delay the facility’s reopening until next Tuesday.

The children’s room in the gallery also got a new coat of paint during the closure.

Until the library is fully reopened, Dean says books are available for check out online or by calling staff, with pickup through the Zastrow Room side entrance.

Dean says they will host an open house with light refreshments Wednesday, March 1st, for patrons to see the library’s new look.

Watch their Facebook page and website for updates.

Call the Charles City Public Library at 641-257-6319 with any questions.
