Northeast Iowa Food Bank Distribution Wednesday in Charles City

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank (NEIFB) makes a visit to Charles City Wednesday (04.05) with its April Mobile Food Pantry.

Jenn Burton with Valero Renewables is the site coordinator and says drive-thru distribution of food is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Youth Enrichment Center on the Floyd County Fairgrounds.

If you have not previously received food from the mobile pantry, Burton says you will need to verify your eligibility, which can be done while you’re waiting in line during distribution.

Burton notes that the Mobile Food Pantry served 153 households in March and ran out of food. This time around, she says they’re planning enough food to serve 165 households.

Burton adds that they can always use more volunteers since is takes over three dozen volunteers to distribute that much food.

For more information on the program or to volunteer, contact Burton at 641-220-1769.
