Northeast Iowa Man, Woman Charged with Child Endangerment

A northeast Iowa man and woman are facing assault and child endangerment charges following their arrest last week.

The Fayette County Police Sheriff’s Office began an investigation Friday, March 31, after West Central School District officials contacted them about an 8-year-old male who reported injuries to school officials. Deputies determined that an alleged incident involving the boy took place within the city limits of Fayette and the matter was handed over to the Fayette Police Department.

At the conclusion of the investigation, it was found that the juvenile had bruising and other injuries caused by a leather belt. The boy was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation and turned over to the Department of Human Services.

Fayette Police arrested 28-year-old Matthew Tucker, charging him with willful injury and child endangerment causing bodily injury, both Class D felonies. 28-year-old Sarah Tucker was also arrested, charged with child endangerment, a Class D felony; and accessory after the fact, an aggravated misdemeanor.

The Oelwein Police Department also assisted with the investigation..
