Burn Bans Lifted Tuesday for Floyd, Butler, Franklin Counties

The burn ban for Floyd County has been lifted.
Tuesday morning, Floyd County Emergency Management Director Jason Webster submitted a formal request to the State Fire Marshal’s office representing each fire department having all or part of their fire districts within Floyd County to lift the open ban effective as of 8:30 am Tuesday. The burn ban had been in effect since noon on Tuesday, April 11th.Â
As of 7 am Tuesday morning, Floyd County was one of 14 counties in the state with active burn bans in effect. That number is now down to 13.
Other northeast Iowa burn bans that went into effect last week, but are now lifted include those in Butler and Franklin counties, with each ceasing as of 6 am Tuesday morning. Winneshiek County lifted its burn ban at 11 am Monday morning.
