Spring Cleanup for Charles City residents will be a again be a dropoff event at the Shaw Avenue dump site, from Saturday, April 29, thru Saturday, May 6.
City Administrator Steve Diers says, with a copy of your utility bill or similar proof of residency, each eligible household can drop off and dispose of one truckload of discarded items.
Diers adds that the timing for this weekend’s kickoff to Spring Cleanup is by design.
Truckload drop offs can be made at the Shaw Avenue dump site from 7 am to 7 pm Saturdays and Sunday and from 9 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday of next week.
Diers adds that assistance is also available to residents who don’t have the means to take items to the dump site. Contact City Hall to make arrangements.
The City’s contracted sanitation company, Jendro, can also pick up bulky items like couches during the Spring Cleanup dates, but Diers notes there will be an extra fee associated for the service.
