Law Enforcement “Click It or Ticket” Campaign Continues Through Sunday

It’s “back to the basics” for Iowa law enforcement agencies with the latest “Click It or Ticket” special traffic enforcement, which continues through this Sunday (06.04).

Trooper Tom Williams with the Mason City District office of the Iowa State Patrol says seat belt use among motorists has been headed in the wrong direction.

Williams says all drivers can help make roads safer, if they choose to do so.

According to the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau, in 2022, 55% of traffic fatalities in Iowa were unbelted or unknown. So far, in 2023 that number is about 60%. It is perceived everyone wears a seat belt, yet over half of Iowa fatalities are unrestrained.
