Push Continues for Petition Signatures for Charles City High School Bond Referendum

The push continues for petition signatures to get a $28,5 million bond referendum before voters in the Charles City School District.
Superintendent Dr. Anne Lundquist says the bond would help pay for overdue enhancements for a High School building that hasn’t seen any major upgrades since it was built 63 years ago.
The bond would also enable the district to add a new performing arts auditorium to the High School.
About 500 signatures are needed for the petition in order to advance the measure to the ballot this November.
Lundquist says petition forms are available at the Central Services building and can be downloaded off the school district website, where information is also available on the proposed floor plans, plus supporting documents that explain the financials of the projects as well as the tax implications for property owners.
