City Council Approves Payment for Concrete Work for New Charles City Drinking Well

Construction of the new one million gallon clearwell in Charles City continues.
The new underground storage tank will supplement the City’s current 500,000 gallon tank. During Wednesday night’s City Council meeting, City Engineer Brian Sullivan told the Council that Gridor Construction recently completed a huge amount of concrete work.
City Administrator Steve Diers added more context to the mass of concrete laid down.
The Council thenapproved the latest payment for the project at just over $200,000.
The bid for construction of the clearwell was approved last fall for $4.3 million. When completed, it will to triple the capacity of drinking water in Charles City.
