Carnival Worker at Howard County Fair Charged with Assault

A Texas man working at the Howard County Fair in Cresco over the weekend is facing a pair of assault charges after he was accused of pepper-spraying victims without provocation.
The Howard County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Terry Harley of Fort Worth was arrested Sunday (06.25) following incidents involving a carnival games supervisor and employee the day before. He has been charged with assault causing serious injury, a Class D felony, and assault causing injury, an aggravated misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaints, Harley allegedly used a chemical spray towards the body and face of one man and one woman between noon and 2 pm Saturday afternoon. The male victim suffered minor injuries while the female required medical attention at Howard County Regional Health in Cresco. Authorities say she was having trouble breathing and was referred to an eye specialist because of vision issues.
