Blank Park Zoo Stage Show Headlines Charles City Kids Day July 3

Kid’s Day 2023 is set for this Monday, July 3 in Charles City.

Registration begins in Central Park at 10 am, with the first 600 registered kids getting free goody bags compliments of First Citizens Bank and Soifer Family McDonald’s. 

The kids-only parade starts at 10:30 am led by Charles City Police. Organizer Emily Garden encourages kids to decorate themselves and their bikes, scooters, wagons, or whatever for prizes awarded after the parade.

Unlimited free games follow the parade from 11 am to noon. Then it’s the Blank Park Zoo’s ‘Zoo to You’ stage show.

Lunch in the park starts at 11 am featuring McDonald’s traditional hamburger, chips, and a drink for just $2 per meal until sold out.

Other activities Monday include bowling at Comet Bowl for $2.50 per game from 10 AM- 2 PM, $2 mini golf at Bayou Bend from 1-3 PM and a free swim at the public pool from 3-5 PM.

BLANK PARK ZOO TO HEADLINE KID’S DAY STAGE SHOW

Kid’s Day 2023 is set for Monday, July 3 and will feature the Blank Park Zoo’s ‘Zoo to You’ stage show,
sponsored by Quality Auto Service. The stage show will begin promptly at 12 PM in the bandshell with
the Zoo team sharing their knowledge and passion for animals and conservation. DJ Tad will keep kids
dancing throughout the morning from registration to performances by the Charles City High School
Drumline to prize drawings, games, and lunch.

Registration begins in Charles City’s Central Park at 10 AM; the first 600 registered kids will receive free
goody bags compliments of First Citizens Bank and Soifer Family McDonald’s. The kids only parade will
start at 10:30 sharp from the corner of Main and Kelly Streets and will be led by Charles City’s police
force. Kids are encouraged to decorate themselves and their transportation (bikes, scooters, wagons, etc.)
to be considered for ‘Most Patriotic, Best Decorated, and Most Colorful’ parade awards.
Families are welcome to enjoy unlimited free games from 11 AM-12 PM in Central Park courtesy of the
Fossil and Prairie Park Preserve, CUSB Bank, Fidelity Bank, First Citizens Bank, Soifer Family
McDonald’s, Charles City Fire Department, The Bridge Church, and more. Additionally, McDonald’s
will be serving their traditional hamburger, chips, and a drink in the park for just $2 per meal until sold
out starting at 11 AM.

at the public pool from 3-5 PM, and $2 mini golf at Bayou Bend from 1-3 PM. Party in the Park is
happening from 5-9 PM in Central Park featuring musical act BTDT.
