Carnival Worker Pleads Not Guilty to Howard County Fair Assaults

A Texas man has pleaded not guilty to charges he assaulted two people with pepper-spray at the Howard County Fair in Cresco.Â
43-year-old Terry Harley of Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested following incidents on June 24th in which was accused of using a chemical spray towards a carnival games supervisor and employee at the fair. A male victim suffered minor injuries while a female victim was treated for breathing and vision issues at Howard County Regional Health in Cresco.
Thursday, Harley pleaded not guilty in Howard County District Court to assault causing serious injury, a Class D felony, and two counts of assault causing injury, aggravated misdemeanors. His trial is now set for October 11th.
On June 29th, just five days after the alleged incidents in Cresco, Harley was arrested for assault causing serious injury after he allegedly punched a carnival worker he fired several times in the face during Clear Lake’s Fourth of July celebration. The altercation was caught on security camera.
He made his initial appearance on that charge in Cerro Gordo County District Court on Wednesday.
