Charles City Public Library Closed for Reflooring Project

For the second time this year, the Charles City Public Library will experience an extended closure.

On February 7th, the library closed for the installation of new tile flooring in the lobby. The project was to be completed in less than three weeks, but the closure extended into March. The end result of the flooring was deemed unsatisfactory by library and City officials, calling for the flooring to be redone, which started Thursday (08.10). That will mean public access to the interior of the library will be closed off for approximately the next four weeks.

However, Library Director Annette Dean says patrons will still have access to library materials.

Dean adds that weekly programs will also continue during the closure.
