Jennifer Tresch, 47, Charles City

Jennifer Tresch, 47, of Charles City, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

A funeral Mass for Jennifer will be held at 10:30a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Reverend Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City and continue one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church.

Jennifer Bernice (Rogers) Tresch, the daughter of Richard and Darlys (King) Rogers, was born on September 17, 1975, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, Iowa. She graduated from Osage High School in 1994. She attended NIACC and graduated with an associate degree in 1998. She then attended Buena Vista University and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Jennifer married the love of her life, Travis Tresch, on August 24, 2002, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City.

Jennifer was a very hard worker and had a variety of jobs she worked at including Boehmer Janitorial Services, Head Start in Charles City, Floyd County Medical Center in the dietary department, Charles City Community Schools as a paraeducator, and babysitting in her home. She was a member of the Orchard Auxiliary Legion for 47 years and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Jennifer loved her cats and collecting cat figurines. She enjoyed dancing, reading books, watching food shows, cooking, walking in nature, and gardening. She loved making friends and kept in contact with everyone. Family was the most important thing in her life and cherished being together, especially with her nieces and nephews.

Jennifer is survived by her husband, Travis; father and mother, Richard and Darlys Rogers of Osage; father and mother-in-law, Duane and Mary Tresch of Floyd; sister, Angie (Jim) Boehmer of Lake Mills; nephew, Lincoln (Cara) Boehmer and great-nephew, Canyon of Slater; nephew, Grant (Harmony) Boehmer of Forest City; nephew, Cael Boehmer of Waverly; sister, Beth Ann Olson of Osage; twin nieces, Kendall and Kaitlyn Olson; nephew, Kolton Olson; brother, Nick (fiancé Jordan Gardiner) Rogers of Washington, Iowa; nephew, Jaxon Rogers; nieces, Fraya and Piper Gardiner; sister-in-law, Kristy (Kevin) Wilde of Charles City; nephew, Skyler Buss of Denver, Iowa; along with many more loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Marreld and Bernice King; paternal grandparents, Hilbert and Collette Rogers; aunt, Leona Parish; uncle, Fred King; grandparents, Alfred and Margaret Tresch and James and Virginia Reams; along with many aunts and uncles.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
