Locations for two new murals in Charles City are primed and ready, with painting to begin this week.
That’s Mayor Dean Andrews on the latest “Town of Colors†murals, which will be painted by Molly Keen, who’s artwork will be seen on Clark Street, and Andrea Erhardt, who’s mural is coming to the north side of the Furniture Barn.
The walls for each mural have been primed and are ready for the artists to paint.
The Charles City Arts Center will host an open house for the public to meet the artists from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday (09.20) evening.
Andrews says they are still looking for a business to be painted with the “Welcome to Charles City Iowa†postcard mural.
Given the late stage of the year, officials are now targeting 2024 for the postcard painting.
