October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

That’s Floyd County Medical Center CEO Dawnette Willis, who adds that the hospital’s newly renovated radiology department now features the services of Dr. Ryan Smith, a diagnostic radiology specialist who oversees diagnostic mammograms.

Chickasaw County Public Health Administrator Lisa Welter says breast cancer isn’t exclusive to women.

This year’s theme for Breast Cancer Awareness Month is “More Than Awareness,” calling for not just being aware of the need for regular mammograms, but actually getting them done.
