Northeast Iowa Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash

A northeast Iowa man has died following a single-vehicle rollover crash early Friday (11.10) morning.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report at about 1 am Friday morning of a wreck near 45th Street and R Avenue, just north of Oelwein. It was discovered that the driver lost control of a Ford F250 truck, which entered the ditch, and rolled multiple times. The driver and a passenger were ejected and suffered serious life-threatening injuries.
Both occupants were transported to Oelwein Mercy Hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, the driver, 21-year-old Cooper Ingels of Maynard, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The passenger, 23-year-old Adam Michels, also of Maynard, was later transported to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City for further treatment.
Oelwein Police, Oelwein Fire Department, Fayette County Medical Examiner, and Mercy One Ambulance also assisted with the crash, which remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Technical Investigation team.
