More Prostitution Arrests in Northeast Iowa

For the second time this year, a northeast Iowa man has been arrested on prostitution charges.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office says 49-year-old Bradley Kamaus of Fort Atkinson faces five counts of prostitution after he was accused of paying a Waterloo woman for sex in his home between October 5th and November 5th. Also arrested in the case is 27-year-old Laquasia Timothy, charged with six counts of prostitution.

According to the criminal complaints, a search warrant executed November 7th led to a review of Kamaus’ cell phone, which showed five transactions with Timothy totaling over $1,000, with authorities saying Kamaus later admitted to the purchases. The transactions included a November 5th, incident in which Timothy allegedly accepted $300 for sex with Kamaus, but she left with the money without performing sex.

On Sunday (11.12), an undercover operation led to a controlled buy in which Timothy agreed to have sex for $250. After she accepted payment, she was arrested but refused to return money  and law enforcement says she hid it in a body cavity. It wasn’t until she was in the Winneshiek County Jail before the money could be retrieved.

Additional charges against Timothy include obstructing justice, possession of a controlled substance, interference with official acts causing bodily injury, fifth-degree theft and two counts of driving while license revoked.

Kamaus was convicted on three counts of prostitution in August stemming from his arrest following an investigation by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office that started in January. In that case, two women were each convicted for prostitution, with 53-year-old Trent Fitzpatrick of Oelwein facing a trial for pimping December 20th in Winneshiek County District Court.
