One Person Dies in House Fire near Clarksville

One person was killed in a house fire about five miles northeast of Clarksville on Tuesday.

Butler County Emergency Management Agency says crews from multiple fire departments responded to the blaze in the 30,000 block of 150th Street for a report of a house fire shortly before 1 pm Tuesday afternoon.

Officials have not released the victim’s identity at this time, which Butler County EMA says won’t happen until autopsy results are received from the State Medical Examiner’s office. There’s no known time frame for that autopsy.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but officials hoped to make that call by week’s end. The house is considered a total loss.

Respondents to the scene include Plainfield Fire, Clarksville Fire, Clarksville EMS, Shell Rock Fire, Shell Rock First Responders, Waverly Fire, Butler County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Butler County Emergency Management. Other support agencies included the Butler County CERT Team, and Butler County REC.
