Iowa’s Second Shotgun Deer Hunting Season Opens Saturday (12.09)
Iowa’s second shotgun deer hunting season of the year opens Saturday (12.09),which Iowa DNR Conservation Officer for Floyd and Mitchell counties, Jacob Fulk, says has changed in scope in recent years.
Among things that haven’t changed, it’s still illegal to use any kind of vehicle to hunt deer.
Fulk says you can also NOT use devices like phones and walkie talkies to transmit movement of deer to other hunters. However, you do want to communicate with your hunting party before you head out to the field.
And don’t forget to wear your state-mandated blaze orange hunting vest and to have your hunting license and deer tags with you at all times.
Iowa’s second shotgun deer season runs December 9th through December 17th.
