Northeast Iowa School District Goes Virtual Due to High Illness Rate

A spike in illness among students and staff has forced a northeast Iowa school district to hold virtual classes for a couple of days,
In a Facebook post, Janesville Schools said that, “as of the end of the school day Tuesday, there were 127 students and 13 staff members absent due to illness. That is not sustainable. Our staff will be cleaning and disinfecting the district over the next few days.”
Thus, Janesville Schools closed at 5 pm Tuesday (12.12) and will remain closed until 8:15 am Friday (12.15) morning. All activities scheduled during that time period of time have been canceled.
Wednesday (12.13) and Thursday (12.14) will be virtual school days. Teachers will be connecting with students with the expectations over the next two school days. Students in grades 6-12 will be expected to have all virtual work completed by Friday when we return.
