New Hampton School District to Speed up Daycare Payments

The New Hampton School District will speed up their payment to Little Sprouts Children’s Center for the wraparound daycare that began operating out of the Elementary School building at the start of the school year.

Superintendent Jay Jurrens told the School Board last week that the district has the financial means to honor their $100,000 commitment to the project in a timelier fashion.

Jurrens noted that speeding up the payments would minimize the impact on future school district leadership. The School Board voted unanimously to move forward with the more concentrated payment plan.

Jurrens also recently told our news department that the daycare program has been a win-win for Little Sprouts and the school district.

The new daycare option operates out of the former weight room in New Hampton Elementary and was remodeled to create space to accommodate 55 kids.

The creation of the wraparound childcare program also allows more space for infants and toddlers, now totaling 68, at Little Sprout’s main center at Trinity United Methodist Church.
