Charles City Forgery Suspect Pleads Not Guilty
A north Iowa man accused of forging checks worth almost $20,000 in Charles City has pleaded not guilty.
An investigation by Charles City Police in October alleges 41-year-old Ryan Vaughn forged signatures on 10 checks belonging to a 66-year-old victim, with about $17,000 deposited into Vaughn’s bank account.Â
Monday (01.22), Vaughn pleaded not guilty to charges of ongoing criminal conduct, first-degree theft, and 10 counts of forgery, all felonies, plus fifth-degree theft against an older individual. His trial is now scheduled for April 2nd in Floyd County District Court.
Vaughn is being held in the Floyd County Jail on a $37,000 cash-only bond.Â
